In Samaya, the best way to test our product is…to make adventures with it.

As we promise, freedom has never been so light : and for us, as professionals, it can only be a pleasure to test freedom and adventure, which are in Samaya’s roots. That’s why Ghislain, Arthur (Samaya’s founders) and their team, even during the relaxing Christmas holidays, decided to go on the mountains, day and night, in all weather conditions, to test once again their tent.

Last adventure of 2018 : the magic of Christmas Eve in Cogne, one of the most beautiful spots for ice-climbing in the alps, right down Gran Paradiso, Italy. Under a sky full of stars, nothing was missing for Ghislain and Arthur, with garlande, white wine, and some Christmas gift : a brand new ice axe.

For Samaya it was important to begin the New Year in the perfect way: so Ghislain decided to start 2019 with a symbolic tour near home. The Sous-Dine north face, with its small couloirs of icy snow, was the perfect trip : this peak offers an incredible panorama, with on one side the Mont Blanc, and on the other side the Geneva Lake. But above all, the Sous-Dine was the spot of Ghislain’s first camp adventure, with his family, when he was only three. It was quite an emotion to plant the tend there, on the playground of his childhood, twenty years later, to celebrate the first day of this important year of dreams and challenges.

But this micro-adventure was just the first of many others : on the 5th of January the two guys went once again in the mountains, camping around the Combe of Bella Cha, and climbing up to Tête Pelouse, one of the classics of the amazing Aravis massif.

Anyway, as adventure is better when shared, on the 6th of January Arthur, together with Laura and Robin, Samaya’s graphic design and communication team (and professional adventurer too) went for another day trip in Haute Savoie. Starting to climb in a deep and mysterious fog, it was a magic moment when, emerging form the clouds, a big and bright sun was shining in a perfect blue sky. The view was breathtaking: on one side the Mont Blanc, on another one the Aravis, and the Geneva Lake and the Bornes massif were there too. Staring at the horizon, Samaya’s team is living its dream, preparing the future. Still in the mountains (but not just there), forever on adventure, always sharing.
