Samaya is passionately committed to reinventing lightweight roaming and simplifying access to overnight stays in the mountains, whether for expeditions in extreme conditions or for experiences in more accessible locations.

Samaya s ambition is to help create the conditions for the elevation of the spirit. This begins with the working environment for its team, on a 1,000 m² site close to Lake Annecy.

At Samaya High Camp, Samaya brings together large, open, modern offices, a showroom, a prototyping and production workshop, a research area with a laboratory and test benches, and a young, dynamic team always ready for a trip to the mountains or a friendly get-together!

THE POSITION TO BE FILLED

In this strategic position, you will play a key role in designing the materials and technologies that embody Samaya's DNA. With the support of a modern laboratory equipped with high-performance test benches, and in collaboration with a dynamic team, you will contribute to ambitious projects combining research, development and eco-design. Your mission: to transform your ideas into concrete solutions for adventure enthusiasts, in an inspiring environment in the heart of the Alps.

 

MATERIALS & TECHNOLOGIES DEVELOPMENT

- Management of technical specifications for materials and technologies
- Management of supplier sourcing and allocation of new development projects
- Management of materials and technology development projects through to industrialization of solutions (consistency, feasibility, profitability, etc.).
- Active participation in materials and technology research projects
- Implementation of improvement studies (including eco-design and materials sustainability)
- Management of the materials corner and the materials and technologies library
- Traceability management for materials and components
- Management of quality standards and material certifications
- Supply management for prototypes and SMS in the various plants
- Management of negotiations on prices and purchasing conditions (sourcing)
- Organization of industrial relocation of sourcing

 

LABORATORY & TEST BENCHES

- Management of test resources, software and machines (including performance, maintenance and training)
- Management of special machine and tool projects (including for the workshop)
- Management of relations with suppliers and external laboratories (subject to validation by management for negotiation and contractualization)
- Management of standards and tests (including field tests)
- Management of characterization and quality control of materials, components, technologies and products

 

THE PROFILE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Textile engineer with at least 2 or 3 years' experience
• You're passionate about the outdoor industry
• You are fluent in written and spoken professional English
• Organized and rigorous, you like things well done
• A handyman and handywoman, you're capable of tackling problems from both theoretical and practical angles.
